Premature Ejaculation

  • Whether the cause is physical or psychological, premature ejaculation affects all the dimensions of life and for that reason, it demands a premature treatment.

    Premature ejaculation is quite a common sexual pathology. Estimations say that it affects 1/3 of all men. Nevertheless, and although it is curable in most of the times, many man tend to underestimate it. They may fear the inexistence of adequate treatment for their specific case or, by feeling ashamed, they avoid reaching out for help.

    This pathology can progressively rise into a heavy problem for the couple and its relation, presenting meaningful consequences to a wider spectrum of personal, familial and, inclusively, social levels.

    Premature ejaculation causes.
    There are two main causes for premature ejaculation: organic and psychological.

    Organic Causes
    In our experience, organic causes represent almost the totality of cases in premature ejaculation, which brings consequences at the psychological and inter-relation levels – approximately 75% of the cases are associated to sexual transmitted diseases, in particular Prostatitis and Urethritis. Other possible causes are Hormonal changes and alterations in the neurotransmitters.

    Risk factors of premature ejaculation
    Generally, the fear of losing erection hastens the end of sexual intercourse, which translates itself into an erectile dysfunction. In more serious cases the impotence will scarce any sexual relation.

    General health problems are also risk factors to consider. For instance, anxiety that results from cardiac anomalies can precipitate an orgasm in order to reduce the time of exposure to a situation that may be dangerous or perceived as so.
    Taking medications that treat chronical pathologies as well as stress, fatigue and constant worries regarding personal or professional life are, likewise, important risk factors.

    When should you look for medical assistance?
    See your doctor if in the majority of your sexual relations, you are ejaculating before the time that is desired either by you or your partner.
    Even in the cases where you might be thinking of resolving the question without medical assistance, you might need treatment to achieve and maintain a satisfying sexual life.
    This way, you can avoid (and even cure) very frequent pathologies like Prostatitis and/or Urethritis, in which premature ejaculation is just its first symptom.
    Frequently, these pathologies generate other types of imbalances and diseases that, in time, can aggravate and become more difficult to cure.

    Treatment of premature ejaculation
    In our experience, 75 % of cases are resolved when the causing disease of Premature Ejaculation is treated. This way, we guard not only against the aggravation of complaints but also at the occurrence of diseases or undesirable clinical situations that are very amenable to avoid.
    Throughout the years we have achieved excellent results in the cure of Prostatitis and/or Urethritis. Our treatment is based on an integrated solution with 3 different therapeutic instruments: Laser Therapy, antibiotic treatment and prostatic massage.

    In the absence of Prostatitis and Urethritis, the use of Laser Therapy will allow the reestablishment of HOMEOSTASIS, which in turn can bring forth a solution for other types of cases.

    All the presenting risk factors must be eliminated or minimized. It is fundamental that we understand and confront every situation, searching for solutions that are mutuality compensatory in the interventional process of overcoming this pathology.     Whenever necessary, the use of therapeutic medication is advised in order to speed up the process and to turn it less heavy. However, it is essential to avoid developing a dependency on anti-depressants, the most common and effective type of medical drug for these situations.

    Sexual therapy for the treatment of premature ejaculation
    This can involve simple techniques like distraction (for example thinking on non-erotic or even unpleasant situations in order to “detach” you from the sexual act in play), masturbation before intercourse or the deepening of sexual games in order to reduce stress or pressure. The technique of pressuring the base of the penial gland has proven to be also an effective one.

    Psychological assessment and Psychotherapy
